After the successful international launch of "Resident Evil: Revelations 2" last month, Sony confirmed that the title will soon be made available for company's handheld console. The confirmation came directly from Sony's Third Party Production Director Gio Corsi, who wrote on the official PlayStation Blog that the episodic survival horror game will indeed come to the PlayStation Vita.

"As the final episode of Revelations 2 was just recently released on PS4 and PS3, we're now ready to complete its transition over to PS Vita thanks to the passionate team at Frima Studio, who is knee-deep in production of this title for our favorite little handheld," Corsi stated in the blog. "While we get closer to locking down PS Vita-specific gameplay and features, we will update you all again soon with a firm release date. But for now, I am just saying 'coming digitally this summer.'"

The Sony exec also mentioned that the PS Vita edition will include all four episodes of the Capcom-developed horror game, as well as all the DLCs that were released. It will also feature the single-player option during the Raid Mode. The online co-op Raid Mode as well as its ad-hoc modes could come to the PS Vita edition in the game's next update. Corsi explained that the decision to release it by installment is necessary, so that the handheld version of the game could be released at the soonest possible time.

The gameplay for "Resident Evil: Revelations 2" is reportedly set between the events in "Resident Evil 5" and "Resident Evil 6." It features Claire Redfield as its main character, while Moira, the daughter of Barry Burton, appears in the game in a supporting role. Barry also joins the game as another playable character, as well as the little girl with supernatural powers named Natalia Korda.

More details about the PlayStation Vita edition of "Resident Evil" Revelations 2" are expected to come out soon.
