Attendees of the New York Comic Con were able to experience the exclusive demo of the upcoming "Revelations" sequel from the "Resident Evil" series last week.

According to reports from those who managed to see the exclusive demo, the hit survival horror video game developed by Capcom will not be a continuation of its predecessor. The time frame of the upcoming game is said to happen sometime in between "Resident Evil 5" and "Resident Evil 6."

The PlayStation Store website earlier leaked the release date for "Resident Evil: Revelations 2," which said that the game will come out on Feb. 17, 2015. However, Capcom denied the rumors, saying that there is no confirmed schedule for the game's release as of the moment.

The New York Comic Con demo showed Claire Redfield and Barry Burton's daughter Moira inside a dystopian-inspired prison. As they try to find their way out, the girls have to face several giant zombie guards, puzzle-like diversions, as well as a creepy voice that keeps on reminding them about their impending doom.  The game appears to be very team-driven since they need to shift through characters to be able to finish their missions.

Reports also mentioned that the game is filled with the usual horrifying plot and graphics that the "Resident Evil" series is known for.

Meanwhile, the game developer recently discussed that "Resident Evil: Revelations 2" has been created as a weekly chapter game that will roll out its complete plot in a span of one month.

"Its kind of an experiment on our part," game producer Michiteru Okabe shared, as quoted by Polygon. "We wanted to see what we could do episodically in a digital space."

They also want the players to discuss the games in social media in between episodes.

"It will be like watching a TV drama so people can talk," Okabe explained. "I think our format is a bit different, but we definitely had an eye on Telltale and the games they put together. One thing they do really well, and we took inspiration from, even though their episodes are really spread out, people remained very interested because they talked about the game with each other."

"Resident Evil: Revelations 2" will be released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, as well as Windows PC early next year.
