Rev Ian Coffey Drafted into Keswick Convention 2007

Well-known speaker, writer and Spring Harvest Leadership team member, the Rev Ian Coffey, will be replacing the advertised speaker, the Rev Alistair Begg, to give the Bible readings in week three of this summer's Keswick Convention.

Alistair Begg has had to pull out of the event for health reasons.

Convention Council Chairman Peter Maiden commented: "We are very sad Alistair cannot be with us this summer, but delighted that Ian Coffey is ready and willing to replace him. We are also very grateful to Spring Harvest for their cooperation, which has enabled Ian to come."

The Rev Ian Coffey is the Senior Pastor of the Crossroads Church in Geneva, and will be speaking on 'Postcards from the Edge', a series looking at the biblical stories of people who have found God in hard places.

This year's Keswick Convention Week 3 takes place from 28 July to 3 August.

The highlight of this year's Keswick Convention will be the final public appearance from world famous theologian and evangelist Rev John Stott before he retires.

The much-loved veteran preacher, whose books and teachings have impacted the lives of millions of Christians around the globe, will draw his public ministry to a close on Tuesday 17 July at Keswick.

Peter Maiden, the chair of the Convention council, said, "We are delighted that Dr Stott has chosen to speak at Keswick for the last time, and are grateful for the immense blessings he has brought to the convention over the years."

Dr Stott is revered the world over for his life of ministry. The world famous evangelist Rev Billy Graham testified him as "the most respected clergyman in the world today".
