'Revenge' season 4 episode 11 'Epitaph': Will Emily make through Hampton alive?

On Jan. 4, "Revenge" will be back and Daniel Grayson's untimely demise will be made even more tangibly painful for Hampton denizens and beyond. A sneak peek has already made rounds on the internet, having fans gear up for a sad farewell and a new and Daniel-less year for Emily and the group.

In Episode 11 titled "Epitaph," Emily's former husband will finally be laid to rest. However, issues surrounding the various family trees wouldn't be. Victoria will become more ferocious upon her son's death, which kept her biggest enemy alive. Everyone will see her mourn, along with others who are dear to Daniel. In turn, the warfare will keep a fast and aggressive pace and so will deaths on the series.

Interestingly, rumor mills seemed to have focused on Emily's fate, spawning speculation that the heroine will share the same fate with her fallen lover. However, showrunner Sunil Nayar has yet to craft the character's destiny.

"Whether she lives or dies, honestly we don't know yet," Nayyar told Entertainment Weekly. "That is such a moving thesis for the show, because there is such loss that comes with this journey. What's interesting to me about how she would finish this journey is what sense of victory does she take and who does she get to walk away with, if she walks away at all?" he then added.

He also shared that with Emily around, who is angering and helping out people in the series, putting her tale to a close with her 'feeling perfect about everything' is something improbable. Confucius once said, "Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." Nayyar knows that very well and it may just be the notion that will cap off this entire story of reprisal.

On the other hand, Nayar has touched on Nolan and Louise's contribution to the mayhems and merriments of the show, saying that "Revenge" will go deep down the roots of the Ellis family tree. Apart from the inclusion of Louise's brother, Nayar said that 'there's going to be an element to Nolan and Louise.' "We're going to deepen their dynamic together," Nayar told to Entertainment Weekly.
