Sunday night's episode of "Rick and Morty" showed Mr. Meeseeks, one of the fan favorite characters of the Cartoon Network's animated series.

In "Mortynight Run," fans were treated to several cameos of the creature that could be summoned by activating the Meeseeks Box. Zap2it reports that while Rick and Morty were visiting the Blips and Chitz galactic arcade, Mr. Meeseeks could be seen hanging out in the background. It even helped someone achieve a high score on an arcade game before disappearing.

Mr. Meeseeks first appeared on the show in season 1, when Rick gifted the family with a Meeseeks Box. The creature was supposed to vanish once a particular task was fulfilled. However, Jerry's poor performance at golf kept it alive much longer.

Viewers, however, should not expect to see much of the creature for the current installment. Co-creator Justin Roiland recently shared with The Hollywood Reporter that the creature would not be making a big comeback.

"We didn't realize how popular that character was going to be, so I don't know how that's going to affect us as we move forward. We didn't think to do a story or do anything too much with him in Season 2 aside from a couple of little subtle, inconsequential cameos."

Meanwhile, executive producer and writer Dan Harmon expressed his disappointment about the recent leak of the show's second and third episodes on torrent sites. The International Business Times reports how irked the EP was about what happened.

"It's frustrating because we'd like people to see the episodes finished, with the fixed audio and the video all color corrected."
