There's a new rumor going around that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will premiere on July 26, far earlier than Adult Swim's projected launch date.

However, folks at Reddit pointed out that the information being attributed to the upcoming season is actually from the second season, which premiered on July 26 last year.

The trailer being referred to about the said July premiere for "Rick and Morty" season 3 was actually from season 2 and not the upcoming season.

That being said, "Rick and Morty" season 3 is not dropping this month. It is also practically impossible, seeing that the recording for the new season began just last week.

"Rick and Morty" creators Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland have already said that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will premiere by the end of this year.

As for the specific release date, it is safe to base the timing of the "Rick and Morty" season 3 premiere on the launch date of the first season, which aired Dec. 2 a couple of years back.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 will likely be here around that date as well. At the moment, production continues to take shape.

"I think season 3 is—we're targeting around the end of this year... You guys do realize we're at the beginning of this year?" Harmon teased during a panel at the Magic City Comic Con.

He also revealed that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will have 14 episodes, as opposed to just 10 that the first and second seasons had.

This is certainly good news for fans who just can't get enough of the animated science fiction series. Additionally, "Rick and Morty" season 3 will also feature more about Rick's ex-wife, who was featured in the second season.

"Rick and Morty" season 3 is also expected to see everyone's favorite mad scientist earn his freedom after his incarceration in the last season.
