Although "Rick and Morty" was teased during this year's San Diego Comic Con, very little is actually known about the show and its story thus far. However, it has been confirmed that one new aspect of its promotional materials will include a claymotion sequence done by KungFuDork Studios.

The studio confirmed their involvement via Twitter when they posted several photos of the sequence being filmed. A report from iDigital Times later confirmed that one of their previous fan videos caught the eye of series co-creator Justin Roiland, who also voices Rick and Morty in the show.

Roiland later sent a recording of a conversation of the characters which can be used for KungFuDork Studio's next clip. It is expected that the sequence will be used to later promote season 3 as it nears its premiere later this year. It is noted by fans that the claymotion sequence is very reminiscent of the artstyle used for the show "Robot Chicken."

Season 3 will deal with the cliffhanger ending of season 2, which saw Rick captured by the Galactic Federation in order to let Morty and his family escape. However, upon their return they witnessed Earth being invaded by the alien forces, hinting that season 3 will need to see Rick break out and Morty fight off the alien invasion.

A previous report also showcased that season 3 will retain elements of gore and shock value that the series is known for, particularly an upcoming sequence where a modified Rick needs to implant a giant rat's brain onto his own in order to combat a legion of giant rats attempting to enter his cell and eat him.

According to the report, Adult Swim has yet to announce an official premiere date for the show but it has been confirmed during the San Diego Comic Con that the show will premiere within the year, indicating that it may premiere between October and December.
