Fans are thrilled to know that the best season for "Rick and Morty" is reportedly yet to come. Fans can't wait for all those surprises when it goes back on air for season 3. Fans are speculating that Rick will have a face-off with the meanest villain in the popular Adult Swim cartoon series.

"Rick and Morty" writer, Mike McMahan urged fans to relax for a little bit while waiting for the upcoming series. It will also be the best so far, he said. McMahan's post reads: "WHEN ARE WE GETTING RICK AND MORTY SEASON 3?!?!? Just relax- it's our best season and worth the wait. Greatness takes time."

McMahan also posted previously an artwork for the cartoon series. It show Morty's garage, tidy and clean, and without Rick.

Fans can expect that the upcoming season will continue where it have left previously. Rick is detained in the Galactic Federation Prison and will try to escape. It remains to be seen if Morty, his grandson, or the others will be rescuing him. Morty has been trying to track his grandfather ever since he got abducted last season. It is also rumored that Rick will meet a nasty high-ranking officer in the prison, and is said to be the meanest of all the villains that have been put on to the show, IB Times reported.

The dark-sci-fi series' showrunner, Dan Harmon, shared earlier that the team is trying its best to give a good season for the fans. He is hoping that the next chapter will not be a disappointment.

Harmon said at the San Diego Comic Con, "It's been harder this season... I watched the thumbnail animatic of Episode 304 and I was ready to move forward with it and Ryan [Ridley] said 'we're not satisfied with it and we were already behind schedule. They have to bear the brunt of the schedule, they have to work weekends. They are the ones that wanted to do it. There's a weird higher calling there and it's not an endless perfectionism because you know when something finally clicks and you go 'this is a good episode of TV.' But it's not just me and I was very happy to find that out."

It is speculated that "Rick and Morty" season 3 will go back on air on Adult Swim before 2016 ends. The upcoming season will also offer 14 episodes.
