The popular animated series "Rick and Morty" has not only found fame on televisions worldwide, the cult favorite has also found supremacy in the virtual reality (VR) gaming world with the upcoming release of its similarly titled game "Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality" dropping to PlayStation 4 users this April.

Cartoon Network's adult-centered programming block, Adult Swim officially announced on Friday the release of its heavily anticipated VR game to PS4 consoles, which will be made available to console users on April 10.

The former PC exclusive VR game will have two retail versions -- a standard and a collector's edition. The said collector's edition will be in limited stocks and will include official "Rick and Morty" merchandise such as figurines and comic book posters.

The game will involve puzzle-solving scenarios, battling alien forces, and jumping through dimensional portals -- as with the TV series. The game will see users take on the role of a clone Morty -- the emotionally distressed grandson and loyal sidekick of Rick, as they battle through countless intergalactic forces in true unpredictable, animated style.

The VR game was created by Adult Swim Games in partnership with game developer Owlchemy Labs, while Other Ocean Group is responsible for the PlayStation VR version and its distribution.

"Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality" is based on the popular animated series "Rick and Morty" whose intergalactic adventures more often than not result in catastrophic destruction heavily sprinkled with lots of dark-themed humor.

The VR game will retail at $29.99

The animated series is currently in its third season.
