A viral video has been circulating the internet of a woman named Sophia Lawrence, who called all the people's attention in church so that she could share her traumatic experience of being molested as a child in order to raise the awareness on sexual abuse within the confines of the church. The emotional confession almost led to a potentially chaotic riot, since Lawrence's mother immediately protested the confession and called it a lie.

In the video that has now gone viral, it can be seen that Lawrence initially attempted to share her traumatic experience slowly, perhaps, to avoid a possible riot within the church due to the sensitivity of the subject she was trying to tackle. The video was initially shared in the Media Takeout Facebook page, and has since garnered over 1 million views in just two days.

The congregants sat silently, as they waited for Lawrence to say her piece, and when she confessed that she was raped at just eight and a half years of age by her mother's boyfriend, her mother immediately stood up and protested the confession. Lawrence stated that her childhood was "taken away" by her mother's boyfriend, and went on further to say that her mother knew about what was going on, yet did nothing to stop the sexual abuse.

As it turns out, Lawrence's mother appears to be of Jamaican descent, and spoke with a thick Jamaican accent as she protested the controversial confession. Lawrence's mother then threatened her daughter that God will not take kindly to the "lies" that she was stating in front of the public, and the two eventually had to be separated to stop a full-blown fight from taking place in the church.

Multiple netizens sounded off on the comments section of the video, sharing their thoughts and opinions about the issue. Some have shared that such a case is very common in domestic households, and that numerous women have been victimized as children and the assailants get away with the crime.
