Game developer Crystal Dynamics unveiled several new details about "Rise of the Tomb Raider," exclusively distributed for Xbox. Brian Horton, the game director of the upcoming action adventure game, shared several details about its storyline as well as the things to look forward to once it comes out.

According to Horton in his interview with Game Informer, "The sophistication we're bringing to the gameplay is as much as the sophistication we're bringing to the graphics, and I find that extremely exciting."

The game director also said that "Tomb Raider's" lead character Lara Croft will go through a very difficult ordeal in the coming game as she continues to deal with the pain and trauma that she encountered during the last game title. In the upcoming game, the developers are planning to show that Lara is human, too, by overcoming obstacles in spite of all her hardships to make her more relatable.

Also, Horton shared that the soon-to-be released title will be set on an icy region in Siberia where Lara will have to deal with all forces to be able to find a long-lost city and look for the answers that will define the existence of the immortal soul.

Other notable details that the game director shared include:

  • Lara's multiple bows that are upgradable.
  • A new day and night and weather system.
  • Some animals will only come out at specific times of the day.
  • The animals in the game can make tracks that players can follow and hunt, but the tracks will fade after a while.
  • The surroundings as well as the avalanches and crumbling ice walls look true to life.

The "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will exclusively come out on Xbox One and Xbox 360 this year.
