It was already announced that the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be released exclusively for the Xbox One and Xbox 360. According to the game's developer, Crystal Dynamics, the forthcoming game will be made available in the fourth quarter of 2015, hence the rumors that it will be unveiled during the holidays.

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" is a follow-up game to the Lara Croft saga reboot. This second installment will continue on with the story and events from its prequel, drawing out details from the "Tomb Raider" comic book series of Gail Simone.

With Lara Croft becoming a true survivor during her adventures in the first game, fans can now look forward to the main character using her survival skills and knowledge, coming across new people, and accepting her destiny as the Tomb Raider in the second game.

According to the official Xbox website, "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will allow gamers to explore various locations all over the world, some of which have been described as "the most beautifully hostile places on earth."

Moreover, fans can look forward to the tombs returning to Tomb Raider in survival-action mode.

With the upcoming game being released for various game consoles, gamers can now do away with their confusion that was first brought on by the announcement at Gamescom that the "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be made exclusive to Xbox One and Xbox 360.

It was questioned as to whether this will be a timed exclusive deal, and whether the game will still be made available to other platforms after an Xbox debut. Microsoft, Square Enix, or Crystal Dynamics did not disclose any more information to explain the said deal.

"We certainly didn't intend to cause any confusion with the announcement," Crystal Dynamics explained when asked about the timed exclusive. "The Microsoft Gamescom stage was a great place to make the initial announcement, but not necessarily to go into details."

Nonetheless, Xbox head Phil Spencer has already announced that such exclusivity will only go on within a period of time. Microsoft and Crystal Dynamics explained that the deal will aid the "Tomb Raider" franchise in gaining popularity once again and compete with other offerings, such as Sony's upcoming game "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" in 2015.

After the official launching of "Rise of the Tomb Raider" for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2015, users of the PlayStation 4 and PC can still look forward to the launching of the game in their platforms.
