In the next episode of "Riverdale," the mysterious gunman puts Archie Andrews (K.J.Apa), his dad Fred (Luke Perry), and everyone else on edge in the once peaceful town.

The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Nighthawks" was just released recently and showed Archie telling his dad that someone is going after the people that he cares about. Fred is back from the hospital after surviving a gunshot wound from a mysterious shooter. He looks at Archie with concern as he rests on their living room couch. "Don't you want to find out who is doing this?" Archie asks his dad urgently.

It appears that Archie goes to the police station to ask Sheriff Keller (Martin Cummins) for help. However, it seems Keller gives him some stark news as Archie buries his head in his hands. His friends Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) help him out by disseminating posters of the wanted shooter. "Have You Seen This Man," the poster reads. The picture of the shooter is drawn on it as well.

It remains to be seen if Archie and his friends will be able to find the shooter and if they can catch him in time before he hurts anyone else.

In the season premiere, Archie brought his father to the hospital after getting shot by the unknown perpetrator. His dad was bedridden for several days because he had slipped into a coma. Archie was devastated at the thought that he might lose his dad. His friends comforted him at the hospital while Archie tried to regain control of his emotions.

Fred eventually snapped out of his coma and saw his son at his bedside. They had a tearful conversation where Archie vowed to protect his dad better the next time.

"Riverdale" season 2 episode 2 will hit the airwaves on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 8 p.m. EDT on The CW.
