Jane (Angie Harmon) and Dr. Maura (Sasha Alexander) will find themselves trying to solve a difficult case with a witness suffering from a form of blindness in the upcoming episode of "Rizzoli & Isles."

In "Face Value," Cartermatt reports that the story will revolve around a witness who suffers from facial-recognition blindness, making it very hard for the killer to be recognized. The dynamic duo will then be forced to use all their cunning to find another way to pinpoint who the culprit is. The promo also shows that the death occurred as a result of massive trampling, which makes solving the tough case close to impossible. 

Last episode, Jane and Dr. Maura had another crucial murder to solve which involved someone they knew. Susie (Tina Huang), who worked closely with the forensic expert, was killed and it appeared that she was involved in some dubious business. 

They found out that she was tampering with evidence at the Boston Police Department in exchange for money. There was also a false wall in her apartment where she kept evidence bags and cash. Dr. Maura, being her immediate superior, was suspended pending the investigation.

It turned out that Susie was secretly doing an inquiry of her own regarding the art forgery case in the last episode. She wanted to find out where the original painting worth $20 million had disappeared into. Although it was supposedly a close case with the death of the prime suspect, Susie was onto something big.

She learned that Langdon (Dameon Clark), who had plans to run for governor, was the third man involved in the case. Apparently, he had his wife, whose father was the original owner of the painting, to donate it to the museum. Because he needed to raise fund for his campaign, Langdon planned the elaborate heist to steal the work of art.

When he realized he had been found, he set off to kill Susie. In the end, they were able to prove her innocence, and Dr. Maura was vindicated.

Meanwhile, Executive Producer Jan Nash told TV Guide that another character would find his or her life hanging in balance at the midseason finale, just like what happened to Jane last season. 

"It's an idea we had last year where somebody from the team is in deadly peril and we'll come back and see how we save them," he said.
