"Rizzoli and Isles" season 7 will be the final season for the show, and episode 12, the penultimate episode, will take a look into the past, present and future of the characters. The episode is titled "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow" and will see the heroes solve two cases simultaneously, one a current a case and the other from the past.

As stated in a report from the IBTimes, the cases will be connected somehow to Korsak (Bruce McGill). It is speculated that the case from the past might be an unresolved mystery, one that has continued to bother Korsak to this day and it will be up to Jane (Angie Harmon) and Maura (Sasha Alexander) to finally solve it to its natural conclusion. 

It is also possible that these two cases will be the determining factor for the two leads to leave their current career behind and move on to something new. The final episode, "Ocean-Frank," is going to showcase the two leads as they depart for their new direction and as they bid each other farewell.

The two leads will also get some insight regarding their future careers. According to Cartermatt, Jane is possibly developing a new romantic relationship as she will be getting a "surprise visit" from someone in the episode. Maura, on the other, will get a response regarding her novel but it won't be the kind of feedback she wants to hear.

"Rizzoli and Isles" has yet to further reveal where the two leads will go and what they will do following their final case together although it has been heavily hinted that Jane is going to be moving over to Washington DC. In episode 11, she already informed her family about the decision.

Following this episode, the final episode that will end the series airs on September.
