A man was gunned down by a man with road rage on a road in Orlando.

The victim, 47-year-old Fred William Turner Jr., was shot dead by a driver who apprehended him with a gun on Saturday afternoon. Turner Jr. had called 911 to report that he was being chased by the driver, but was gunned down shortly.

The killer is not yet known and police believe that a confrontation between the victim and the killer took place at the intersection of North 50th Street and East Columbus Drive.

Debbie Carter, a spokeswoman for Hillsborough County Sheriff's office, said: "While on the phone, the caller stated that the vehicle following him had earlier pulled up next to his vehicle and someone displayed what appeared to be a semiautomatic weapon to him."

The caller told dispatchers that he did nothing wrong for the gunman to be chasing him, telling dispatchers that he was being chased onto the I-4 heading towards Orlando.

"At some point, for unknown reasons, the occupant, or occupants, of one vehicle fired multiple shots at the other vehicle," Carter said.

Turner Jr. was still on the phone to dispatchers when he was shot. He died soon after he pulled over to the side of the I-4.

The gunman is believed to have been driving a grey Ford Taurus.

Officials believe that the incident is related to road rage, although they did not confirm what exactly happened.
