Rev. Robert Schuller of "Hour of Power" fame is going home.

The funeral for the televangelist will be held in the church that he founded decades ago in Garden Grove, California

Crystal Cathedral is now owned by the Diocese of Orange and called Christ Cathedral,  but will welcome friends and family of Schuller in a private homegoing service on April 20 at 10 a.m.

"The closed casket memorial will end with a procession into the Memorial Gardens where Schuller will be buried next to his wife, Arvella, who died a little over a year ago," the Orange County Register noted.

Rev. Schuller passed away on April 2 at the age of 88 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He began working in the ministry over 60 years ago, and opened Crystal Cathedral-- the largest glass building in the world - in 1981.

The church was the location of Crystal Cathedral Ministries, and the site of Schuller's weekly Christian programme, "Hour of Power." At its peak, the show attracted over a million viewers across the world. "Hour of Power" is currently hosted by Schuller's grandson, Robert Vernon "Bobby" Schuller.

Crystal Cathedral Ministries is now called Shepherd's Grove, and is also led by Bobby Schuller. The 33-year-old released a touching statement about his grandfather last week.

"I have the incredible honour of carrying on my grandfather's legacy by teaching people that they are not what they do, not what they have, and not what people say about them," he said. "They are the beloved of God.

"'The Hour of Power' team is dedicated to keeping Schuller's legacy alive by providing our messages, old and new, to those who need to hear them most."
