The soundtrack collection of "Rock Band 4" just expanded with the release of the Off the Charts 01 DLC pack, which added five awesome new songs for players and virtual rock stars and stage-loving performers to tread the boards to.

According to Shack News, developer Harmonix wants to keep songs up to date and so the latest song additions came right out of the soundtrack that hit the Billboard music charts this year and last year. The songs include:

  • Beck – "Dreams"
  • BØRNS – "Electric Love"
  • Catfish And The Bottlemen – "Cocoon"
  • Cold War Kids – "First"
  • X Ambassadors – "Renegades"

Harmonix released a clip that provides a foretaste of the Off the Charts 01 DLC pack, which have been made available to "Rock Band 4" players starting yesterday, Dec. 1, for $8.49. As usual, players can purchase the songs individually for $1.99.

Off the Charts 01 comes a week after the Van Halen Hits Pack 01 DLC was made available. In last week's $9.99 pack, six songs from the celebrated legendary rock band were added, with hits like "Dance the Night Away" and "Hot for Teacher" included, among others.

Also, in a matter of days, Harmonix will be rolling out an update for "Rock Band 4." Being the first patch to be released for the game, it brings loads of cool improvements. Harmonix promises that the update will make the rocking experience seamless for players.

With it, gamers will notice improved instrument calibration as well as brand new items over at the Rock Shop. The Leaderboard will also be tweaked for it to inform players when they exceed other players' scores in the middle of a performance.

"Rock Band 4" being a competitive game, it should also allow players to compare their scores and stats to others. The huge update also brings along the variable "breakneck" speed for superior rock challenge.

"This first feature update should give our players a taste of what's to come as Rock Band 4 evolves over the next year and beyond," the title's product manager Daniel Sussman promised via IGN. The first update drops Dec. 8.
