Game developer Harmonix recently revealed on IGN the first six songs that would be included in their upcoming rhythm game "Rock Band 4." The songs are quite varied and come from very different sub-genres of rock and roll, ranging from artists such as the classic band The Who to modern metal band Avenged Sevenfold. 

The songs include: "Hail to the King" by Avenged Sevenfold, "You Make Loving Fun" by Fleetwood Mac, "Lazaretto" by Jack White, "Somebody Told Me" by The Killers, "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" by Spin Doctors, and "The Seeker" by The Who. 

According to a report from Games Radar, "Rock Band 4" will also allow players to utilize their music library from all of the DLC packs of previous games in the franchise. This amounts to well over 2,000 different songs and also ensures fans that there won't be any need to purchase the songs again just for "Rock Band 4." 

Harmonix has expressed interest in keeping "Rock Band 4" as one of the definitive rhythm games in the industry today and may stray away from annual releases in order to focus primarily on the main game. This means fewer spin-off titles like "Rock Band: The Beatles," which guarantees that only one game is needed to get the full musical experience. 

The report from Games Radar also explains that the company is focusing entirely on just the classic plastic instruments. This means no pro guitars and no keytars either, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the game with just the basic setup. However, there will be some adjustments to the gameplay. 

According to a report from VG24/7, drummers will now have to play drum fills that come in at random intervals and this will replace the Overdrive system of previous entries, which many found jarring and out of place. Singers will no longer be tightly restricted and can now improvise as long as they keep in tune with the song.

"Rock Band 4" is expected to be released in fall.
