"Rock Band 4" players can now export tracks from "Rock Band 3" to the current game. The feature, which fans have long demanded, is made available by developer Harmonix to the PS4 players in North America and Xbox One players across the globe.

To be able to perform the export, players will obviously have to own a copy of the previous iteration of the game. They will have to key in the USD$15 license key to unlock the profile they used in "Rock Band 3."

Head to "Get More Songs" and scroll down to "Exports." Afterwards, simply choose "Rock Band 3" then "RB3 Disc Export Pack." That should export all 83 songs from the previous game's setlist. Make sure to refresh the "Rock Band 4" library if the songs do not show up.

Harmonix has a reminder for those who will go through the process: "You can only export Rock Band 3 through the in-game Rock Band Music Store in Rock Band 4. You will not be able to export through the first-party store or online," the developer wrote.

The "Rock Band 3" track export feature should be available to PS4 players in European countries by today, Dec. 14, to Dec. 18 although this is subject to change. "Based on testing and submission dependencies, this date can sometimes vary by a couple of days," Harmonix stated.

As per IGN, in the past, players were able to export the tracks from almost every "Rock Band" disc by shelling out. However, the site noted that players were always unable to export "The Beatles: Rock Band," adding that it was never made available to export.

At the moment, Harmonix is working on making the songs in the previous installments of the franchise exportable to "Rock Band 4." This feature is expected to be ready by next year. No specific date was mentioned.
