A new Rock Band game is expected to be coming soon after a source familiar to Harmonix revealed plans to revive the gaming franchise.

Rumors about a soon-to-be-released Rock Band 4 hardly comes as a surprise after Harmonix conducted a survey last month asking gamers what kind of features they would look forward to if ever a new Rock Band game were to come out.

Further adding fire to the rumor was the release of a DLC for Rock Band. The availability comes as a surprise to gamers, especially since Harmonix has not released one in the last two years.

Add to that the fact that there was a sighting that Harmonix could be putting up a booth at this year's PAX East set for March 6 to 8. Although there was still a question mark on the Harmonix pin, this has led many to believe that the company is all set to unveil its new games at the said event.

Among the games that are expected to be revealed at PAX include that of A City Sleeps, Samsung Gear VR project, and Amplitude. The games are compatible with the PS3 and PS4. Could Rock Band 4 be the fourth?

Chances are high that it could, especially considering the enthusiasm that Rock Band fans have shown. To date, there are still a lot of gamers who do play the Rock Band series and with the positive response on the DLC, such could be enough to convince Harmonix to push through with their plans of releasing a Rock Band 4.

For now, company representatives have yet to confirm the plans but from the looks of it, Rock Band 4 is imminently coming. With the game obviously still a popular one despite a long hiatus, a return should be forthcoming. Aside from Rock Band, Guitar Hero is rumored to be returning as well by Activision.
