'Rocket League' DLC update 2018: New Batman-inspired mobiles to drop in new DLC

Fans of the popular soccer x cars video game "Rocket League" should be excited for its upcoming update. The title's latest DLC pack will bring two new Batman-inspired vehicles that will be up for grabs once the patch drops next month.

According to Psyonix, the game's developer, the DC Super Heroes DLC Pack will officially go live for purchase on March 5. It will include two new batman mobiles -- the Tumbler from the Dark Knight trilogy and the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman film by Tim Burton.

Aside from the new vehicles, a lot of DC-inspired content will also make its way to users such as banners and decals based on popular Justice League superheroes -- The Flash, Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, and Aquaman.

Before this, game developers have also previously introduced a DC-based vehicle in its roster of soccer cars. In 2016, Psyonix added the Batmobile from the "Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice" film into their soccer-car crossbreed title.

Another iconic movie car it added into the bunch beforehand is the DeLorean -- a car-based time machine that traces its origins from the "Back to the Future" series.

The DLC pack will cost users $4 and will be available on the following platforms -- PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.

"Rocket League" first came into the gaming scene in 2015 and was first marketed toward Windows users and PlayStation 4 owners. Due to its popularity, it was ported to the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, OS X, and Linux.

Early this January, the game recorded an all-time high of overall players -- 40 million players in total.

According to Psyonix, a sequel is currently not in plans as it is focusing on providing more support and developing various DLC updates for players of the current game.

Once the DLC pack drops, the total number of Batmobiles players can access in "Rocket League" will be three.
