Video game development company Psyonix has released an update for the Nintendo Switch version of its vehicular soccer game "Rocket League" which is already available for download.

The new patch generally reduced the default Controller Deadzone to 0.15 from 0.3 to better utilize Joy-Con analog sticks of the Nintendo Switch. Additionally, it adjusted world detail to improve average resolution in Handheld Mode,  optimized the Utopia Stadium and Farmstead maps, improved the field texture visuals for the Champion's Field and Wasteland maps. Aside from visual improvements, the patch also fixed a bug involving a rare crash that could occur in the post-match Scoreboard in Rumble.

Aside from the update, entertainment company Warner Brothers released details of the retail collector's edition of "Rocket League" which will be available for the Nintendo Switch by Jan. 16, 2018 and is priced at $39.99. In addition to the full game, the following downloadable content is included in the package: Supersonic Fury DLC Pack, Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC Pack, and the Chaos Run DLC Pack. Aside from DLC Packs, DLC Cars will also be contained in the bundle including the Aftershock DLC Car, the Marauder DLC Car, the Esper DLC Car, and the Masamune DLC Car.

In a blog post, the team behind "Rocket League" explained why the price tag for the collector's edition is more expensive on the Nintendo Switch compared to other consoles by $10.

"As many of you have likely noticed, the MSRP for Rocket League Collector's Edition is $10 more on Nintendo Switch than the same version on other platforms." The blog post read. " As much as we tried to keep the retail price down, the reality of the Switch's increased cartridge manufacturing costs meant that the MSRP had to be higher as well."

Nonetheless, the team behind the title is still very much confident that players will get plenty of enjoyment from what "Rocket League" has to offer for the Nintendo Switch users.
