While Disney is usually very secretive when it comes to their upcoming movies, this is apparently not the case with their upcoming new spin-off movie, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." Over the past few months, the company has continuously been sharing little hints about the movie's plot and how exactly it ties up with the original "Star Wars" Trilogy.

Disney is, of course, already set to release yet another trailer this month, which will likely show more scenes that will reveal new clues about the movie itself. However, the movie's director — Gareth Edwards — has now apparently revealed some important plot points in the movie, including the return of villains that were originally introduced in "Star Wars: Episode 4: A New Hope."

The movie's director recently had an interview with USA Today where he talked about the setting of the movie. As was previously revealed, the movie will be taking place at a critical time where the Empire is still trying to solidify its hold over the galaxy.

Edwards then mentioned several names of the movie's characters, which included Director Orson Krennic and Grand Moff Tarkin.

"[Krennic] hits a brick wall in the hierarchy where they won't let him in the club and it's going to turn into a them-or-us situation: either Krennic or Tarkin and the others," Edwards revealed in the interview.

Tarkin — who became the first Grand Moff of the Galactic Empire — was famously portrayed by veteran actor Pete Cushing in the 1977 film.

Orson Krennic, on the other hand, is the Director of the Advanced Weapons Research division of the Imperial Army and is partly responsible for the Death Star Project.

If both villains will indeed be featured in the movie, then it would be quite interesting for fans to see the reunion of the leaders of the Empire alongside Darth Vader, who will reportedly be voiced by James Earl Jones once again.

"Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" is scheduled to hit theaters later this year on Dec. 16.
