"Romancing Saga" is a roleplaying game that was initially released in 1993 for the SNES. It was released again in 2010 for Nintendo Wii. In 2014, the game was released for the Wii U. After several years, the game is making another comeback, this time on PC via Steam. The game is slated to be released on Dec. 15, 2017.

The official synopsis of the game's Steam page reads:

"Sit upon the throne of the Varennes Empire and control several generations of rulers in a valiant battle against the Seven Heroes. A dynamic freeform scenario system - a hallmark of the million-selling SaGa RPG series - enables you to take command of a variety of protagonists along the line of imperial succession..."

The remaster shares the 1993 version's narrative. However, it will be returning with ugraded graphics for modern day PCs. The updates will also include updated audio, new character classes, and new dungeons. There will also be a new game plus feature that includes a brand new content.

The new game plus feature ensures that even the veterans of "Romancing Saga" will get some new items to play with — new content and battles to experience out of the PC version's release.

The game takes place at the end of a grueling war after the Fatestones were scattered across the world. The player will take control of eight various characters from different parts of the globe. Each of these characters has their own story and depending on the players' actions, it will affect the overarching plot of the game. Aside from the main story, players could also recruit NPCs and complete side quests.

"Romancing Saga's" announcement trailer was uploaded to Square Enix NA's YouTube channel on Dec. 8. The trailer rendered excitement for the players as they glimpses at the game's upgraded graphics and high-definition pixel art  and also revealing the new available classes — such as Ninja and Diviner class.
