As it is, Ronda Rousey is already a popular celebrity in her own right. Be it in the Octagon or in a film, it is without question that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's champion has reached new heights, but such is something that will hardly stop her from targeting more.

Back in August, Rousey did hint that she would love to be considered for the role of Captain Marvel and such has drawn the approval of her fans and Marvel's.

The hype has since died down, but it seems that the whole thing may have just gotten a big boost with word that producer Kevin Feige loves the idea of casting Rousey as the Marvel Super heroine.

"I love it," he said of Rousey's campaign during an interview via IGN while promoting the Oct. 2 Blu-ray release of "Avengers: Age of Ultron. "That happens occasionally, and I think that's a testament more to the strength of the characters," he added.

Of course, there is no final word yet on who would be the chosen one to take the part. Other than Rousey, the names of Emily Blunt and Bryce Dallas Howard have also been linked as possible actresses to take on the role of Captain Marvel.

The "Captain Marvel" movie is slated to come out by 2018, and as far as who will take the role remains a question for now. As Feige said via MTV, expect no announcements on who will play the part for the remainder of 2015.

"There won't be any announcements about that this year," Feige said. "I think right now we're scripting the film, figuring out who we want Carol Danvers to be, and really what the structure of the movie will be and what her part will be in some of our other Phase 3 films. And it would be next year that we start to really think about casting," he appended.
