Last Saturday, MMA fans were shocked when Ronda Rousey lost for the first time in her entire career. Holly Holm defeated Rousey and was crowned UFC bantamweight world champion in one of the biggest upsets in MMA history. Holm knocked Rousey out with a kick to the head in the second round of the fight in Melbourne, Australia.

On Monday, Rousey took to her Instagram account to give a statement about her condition and the MMA fighter reassured fans that she will be reentering the Octagon after getting some rest.

"I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support," she wrote on the photo sharing site. "I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I'm fine. As I had mentioned before, I'm going to take a little bit of time, but I'll be back."

Some of her fans replied on her Instagram account and declared their unwavering support for the fighter, despite her devastating loss to Holm.

"We know this will only make you stronger and we look forward to seeing you grow and bounce back from this," wrote one fan.

Many thought that Rousey became overconfident and careless and that she underestimated Holm, who is currently undefeated in UFC with a record of 10-0. Some also said that Rousey's loss was well-deserved because of her poor sportsmanship. Several celebrities even took to social media to point that out, as Lady Gaga took to Instagram to comment on Rousey's loss and wrote, "That's what you get for not touching gloves!"

Before the bout, Rousey took to Instagram to slam Holm and wrote, "I see through your fake sweet act now- you're getting your [expletive] kicked tomorrow, and I'm really going to enjoy the beating I will give you."

Rousey's former manager Darin Harvey recently spoke about the match and told USA Today that the fighter's loss was "bittersweet" for him. The two were involved in a legal dispute after Rousey fired him in 2013 after four years and eight professional bouts together.

"Part of me was elated and part of me was saddened," Harvey said. "The part of me that was saddened was that once I was identified with representing the top female fighter in the world."

Meanwhile, Floyd Mayweather Jr. recently spoke to Fight Hype to defend Rousey against her critics. The boxing champ said that he thought that it was not right for people to bash her on online.

"I don't think it's cool how everyone is trolling her on social media," Mayweather said. "I'm pretty sure that she' a very, very strong person, but we still have to take into consideration that she has feelings."
