Ronda Rousey is not making a comeback in the Ultimate Fighting Championship anytime soon. UFC president Dana White has announced that Rowdy sustained a knee surgery, which may lengthen her break from the octagon.

"I'm hoping we're going to get Ronda back this year," White said on "SportsCenter" on ESPN. "She he just had surgery on her knee yesterday. Nothing serious, just get in there and scope it, clean it out a little bit," he explained.

Although Rousey is expected to recover from the injury quick, Yahoo Sports reports that she might not make it to her planned November return.

Rousey has allegedly been eyeing a possible UFC homecoming by the end of the year. There were even rumors that she will be back as early as next month, but this might no longer be the case.

"If she fights, I'm hoping she fights in December. If not, then he would probably fight at the New Year show at the beginning of the year," White said.

The UFC boss added that whoever has the bantamweight championship belt by the time Rowdy returns to UFC will be the first person that she will be up against.

"Injuries happen in this sport, somebody falls out and somebody else slides in, I'm not even saying Holly Holm couldn't be the champion by the time Ronda comes back. Whoever holds that belt when Ronda's ready," he said.

Rousey hasn't stepped into the ring ever since losing to Holly Holm last November. She admitted that it brought her depression, but White has assured Rousey is now in "great spirits" and that she has been training.

Although Rousey has been on a break, fighters like Cyborg Justino and Amanda Nunes have been taunting her. The former champ has been silent all throughout and just let these mocking pass.

Rousey is now expected for her next fight in early 2017.
