Ronda Rousey pulls the plug at UFC 193 conference call

Ronda Rousey ranks among the folks who are accommodating in the world of entertainment and sports but there are limitations.

That includes drawing the lines in answering questions, particularly the personal ones. Ask her something she considers immaterial or foul and she will most likely turn her back and walk away.

Rousey did just that recently in a conference call that also had upcoming opponent Holly Holm and Valerie Letourneau in a supposed 50-minute live media conference call. It is part of promotions for UFC 193, which will take place in Melbourne, Australia on Nov. 25.

During the call, Holm kicked off things when she weighed in on the plans of Rousey to pursue a boxing career.

When she was done, Rousey was up next in the Q & A. With no screening of possible questions that would be given to her, here was the question thrown at the UFC bantamweight champion:

"Ronda, I know you've been trying to focus mentally about stuff that is happening inside the Octagon, but recently, Travis Browne announced that you were in a relationship. Were you okay with announcing that? Were you cool with that?"

Once the question was asked, everything just went silent. Eventually, a UFC representative informed everyone that Rousey's line was disconnected. No color was thrown yet at this point until it was eventually determined that Rousey never returned.

For the obvious reason, Rousey understandably took exception to the question given to her and hung up. Her celebrated relationship with Travis Browne is something known to most but, apparently, she was not too keen on talking about the matter.

Besides, it didn't really have anything to do with her upcoming fight and so she just decided to disconnect.

Regardless of what had transpired, Rousey is all set to defend her title against Holm at UFC 193 in a couple of weeks. And like her previous tiffs, the reigning UFC women's champion is a heavy favorite to come out on top.
