Developer Choice Provisions and publisher Nicalis have some good news for fans of the "Bit.Trip" franchise. The eighth installment in its popular autorunner series, "Runner3," is now seeing a confirmed release for the PC and Nintendo Switch platform, complete with all the features players loved and more.

According to the duo's announcement, "Runner 3" is slated to see a debut on the PC and Nintendo Switch this coming May 22. On top of this, players who own Nintendo's hybrid console will be able to get two versions of the upcoming title -- a standard digital version and a physical copy. The physical edition of "Runner3" will come packed with extra merchandise, which will include the following: a CommanderVideo character strap, an instruction booklet, and an audio CD sampler.

In terms of what is new in this upcoming game title, players can now take on the role of CommandgirlVideo and other yet-to-be announced character additions aside from series mainstay CommanderVideo.

On the visual side, "Runner3" has seen much improvement in its graphic aspect. The characters are now much more refined and polished when compared to its predecessor, "Runner2." In addition to this, the gameplay has also seen drastic changes with the addition of new game mechanics, camera angles, stages, and boss battles.

"Runner3," just like its previous iterations, will see players run through numerous odd yet fascinating stages all the while taking the role of either series protagonist CommanderVideo or as other characters in the widened roster.

Developer Choice Provisions' new game has a lot to live up to as "Runner2' was a clear success on all supported platforms it was released on back in 2013. However, fans will have to wait a bit longer before they can decide if "Runner3" is a hit or a miss for the well-known developer.

News about "Runner3" first erupted back in February 2017 when the game was announced in Nintendo's Direct presentation event, whose focus was on indie-games up for a release on their Switch console.

Lastly, for those asking, the game has not been announced to release on other platforms other than the two mentioned earlier. Fans should keep a lookout for more updates regarding the release of "Runner3," which will possibly be revealed in the coming weeks.
