Russell Wilson: Devout Christian Seattle Seahawks QB testifies "God is good" after Super Bowl win

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson who is just 25 years-old, testified that his team's victory win against the Denver Broncos in last night's Super Bowl game was all to God.

The quarterback threw two touchdown passes in the second half of last night's game. After his team's victory win, he told reporters: "It's a true, true blessing. God is so good. We believed we would get here. At the beginning of the season I told our guys, 'Hey, why not us?' We believed that we could get here. We had the talent. We had the coaching staff."

He told Good Morning America: "I remember driving in the car with [my father] and him saying, 'Why not you?'"

Wilson also told CBS This Morning: "God's given me so much talent and my height doesn't define my skill set. I believe that God has given me a right arm and for some reason even though I'm 5'11" to be able to make the throws and make great decisions on the field and all that. I think to be a great quarterback, you have to have a great leadership, great attention to detail, and a relentless competitive nature. And that's what I try to bring to the table and I have a long way to go. I'm still learning and I'm still on a constant quest for knowledge."

Wilson also said it was an honor to play against Peyton Manning. "He's one of the best quarterbacks -- if not the best quarterback -- to play the game. You know, it's just truly an honor."

A week before the game, Wilson professed his faith in the Lord Jesus to Pastor Mark Driscoll in an interview: "Jesus is love! At the end of the day, we are all looking for someone to comfort us, somebody to be there for us at all times. When we are at the worst times of our lives, when we are battling with something, or struggles, whatever it may be, when we are at our highest point as well, when things are going really well, we want somebody to comfort us and be there for us and to say, 'Well done.' That's Jesus!"

Wilson has been retweeting Bible verses everyday. He tweeted on Feb. 2: "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33 NIV)"

Another tweet on Feb. 1 reads: "For I know the plans I have for u declares the Lord, plans to prosper u & not to harm u plans to give u hope & a future. Jeremiah 29:11"

Wilson is married to Ashton Meem. The pair dated since high school and have been together ever since. They tied the knot shortly before the 2012 draft. At the time when Wilson was drafted for the Seahawks, Meem's reaction had gone viral.

At the time of his draft, he tweeted: "I just thank The Lord I was drafted by the @Seahawks, the team I wanted to be drafted by."
