The Sacramento Kings' performance has been shaky thus far, but the bright side of it all is that their own dynamic duo are shining.

This is with reference to DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo, two emotional players whom many had initially felt would have trouble getting along in the early goings. That is not the case even if the Kings are 4–8 as of this writing in the Western Conference standings.

Cousins has proven himself as a good forward who can flourish if he is paired with the right guard. Such hasn't happened in previous years until Rondo came along. An initially perceived misfit has turned out to be perfect after all and that is a good sign.

For Rondo, this is perhaps the best he has shown since his Boston Celtics playing days. After sitting out a lot of games due to injury, Rondo has been struggling with the Celtics and then again with the Dallas Mavericks.

Apparently a lot of people know his forgettable history with the Mavs, particularly his run-in with Rick Carlisle that posed questions on whether or not he would bring that attitude against head coach George Karl and Cousins.

And from the looks of it, it is as comfy as it gets for the veteran guard. He has been receiving praises from Karl and is slowly proving why he was at once time a sought-after point guard.

Bit by bit, Rondo has been contributing in all departments like scoring, rebounding and best of all, orchestrating plays. He has made life easy for Karl, Cousins, and the rest of his teammates. Hopefully his magic will stick as the Kings try to make a run for a possible playoff stint.

Rondo is signed for just one year but if he continues his level of play, he and Cousins could end up being the new "Mutt and Jeff" combination for the Kings. But much of that will depend on how much more he can improve heading into the latter stages of the 2015–16 NBA season.
