To this day, there is no word on the real score between Sacramento Kings head coach George Karl and star forward DeMarcus Cousins.

Everyone knows, of course, that both really had a rough time trying to get on the same page. In fact, it even went as far as Karl contemplating to move the temperamental forward.

The trade never went off with team owner Vivek Ranadivé and vice president Vlade Divac intervening. In short, there was no scenario wherein the Kings would part with Cousins.

And if there was someone who would be leaving, that person would have been Karl. Such a scenario appeared in a report via ESPN back in June.

Of course, Karl has been trying to mend his ties with Cousins and to date, the real score of the relationship between the two has yet to be determined. Right now, the status is deemed as a work-in-progress but a lot better compared to the aura a couple of months back.

The latest revelation on the matter has to do with Karl bearing that he did apologize to Cousins for the whole matter.

"To be honest with you, I apologized to DeMarcus for making the trade comment that I've never coached a player that's untradeable," Karl told Kayte Christensen of CSN. "That was wrong for me to say, because you all (the media) took it and blew it up into crazy."

On whether such was sincere or not is up to fans to judge, but the good thing is that Karl seems to be trying to work things out between them. Best of all, it not just benefits both Karl and Cousins but the whole team as well.

This development follows a series of posts, which closely monitored the Karl–Cousins Drama.

One was that tense handshake during the NBA Summer League between the two in Las Vegas. Karl approached Cousins but the latter didn't appear thrilled and took it in civilized fashion.

There was also that photo showing Karl wearing a DeMarcus Cousins jersey, a scene that drew mixed reactions.

Best of all, there was that photo put up by Boogie Cousins on Instagram back in August with the caption "Give them something to talk about," which seems to be the one that silenced everyone on the row.

So is all really fine over at Sacramento? Well, sure seems like it, but we will know when the season opens by the end of this month.
