Forward Rudy Gay might head to his fourth team in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as the Sacramento Kings are reportedly willing to trade him before the deadline, although they are seeking for a great deal. 

In a report by Marc Stein of ESPN, he mentioned that according to his sources, the Kings are open to parting ways with Gay, but there are certain conditions. 

Sacramento is looking for a "quality young player" in exchange for the veteran, or a player that has at least one more year remaining in his current contract.

The reason for this as reported by Stein is because this month, the Kings are not looking to acquire a player who will soon be in the free agency market following the 2015–16 season. 

This means the Kings know what they want if they let go of Gay, who is currently their second-best scorer behind franchise star center DeMarcus Cousins. 

Gay played and started in 41 regular season games this season, averaging 18 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.2 steals in 34.2 minutes of action per outing. 

The New Orleans Pelicans already tried their chances of landing Gay, but their offer of veteran guard Eric Gordon (currently nursing a finger injury) and forward Alonzo Gee in exchange for him was turned down by Sacramento. 

On Feb. 18, the NBA's trade deadline takes effect and with the way things are going, it seems that Gay will stay with the Kings for the rest of the season, except only when a favorable offer comes along the way. 

The Kings are currently on a four-game losing streak but before that won five consecutive games which pulled them up in the Western Conference standings, even having the chance to sit on the eighth spot. 

But as of the moment, Sacramento is 10th in the West at 20–27, a record that can improve when the team returns to action on Monday to take on the Milwaukee Bucks.
