Sadie Robertson shares the Bible passage that made 2017 her best year yet
"Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson knew that 2017 was going to be her best year yet, and she was right. Robertson said she made the decision on January 1st to uphold Psalm 46 every day for the rest of the year, and she was overwhelmed by the impact it had on her life.
"I had no idea how rich and how much depth this would come to play throughout the year," she wrote on her Instagram account (@legitsadierob). "As I have gone on to share this message with people this year and declare the words of Psalm 46 over many houses, I have felt peace and strength enter the room and rejuvenate hearts just as it did for me."
Psalm 46 is all about finding strength in God. Kingdoms might fall and the Eart might melt, but God's sovereignty is absolute. Part of the passage reads, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."
Robertson said she was touched by the words of the passage, but she loved it more after a girl came up to her recently and shared how much it changed her own life as well. After the girl heard Robertson speak during one of her events, she got a ring that carried the message "Even when." It hopes to serve as a reminder for the girl "to stay steadfast to HIS faithfulness and submit to the process of just being still and knowing that God is God even in the midst of her storm."
Now that 2017 is coming to a close, Robertson decided to talk about Psalm 46 again in the hopes of it changing someone else's life in 2018. "Just be still and know He is God. One of my favorite parts of the passage is V. 8 when it says, 'COME AND SEE WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE' inviting people in to come and celebrate the things the Lord has done and the battles He has won."
"No matter what our situation or circumstance looks like on the outside we have to recognize and understand HE is good and has invited us in to live in victory, peace, joy, and freedom," she added.
