Saltmine's 'Three Wise Men and a Baby' made into Christmas book

Saltmine Theatre Company has announced that for the first time it has had one of its full length plays turned into a book.

Just in time for Christmas, Authentic Media has published 'Three Wise Men and a Baby' by David Robinson. The book will be available in shops from the beginning of December and will also be available on both the Authentic Media and Saltmine websites.

The play 'Three Wise Men and a Baby' has been touring around the UK for four years and featured at the late-night programme of Spring Harvest 2006.

As well as featuring the play, the new book will also include other seasonal sketches as well as some creative ideas for Easter services.

David Robinson, who is also Creative Arts Director at Saltmine said that he was "very excited" about the link up with Authentic Media and has hopes that aside from being a resource to read this year, the book will also be used to stage many local productions of the play next year.

The book also includes director's notes, character notes and a technical synopsis making it easy for church or community groups to stage their own production.

David Robinson has acted with the Saltmine Theatre Company since 1989 and was recently given critical acclaim for his portrayal of Screwtape in 'The Screwtape Letters' and David Wilkerson in 'The Cross and the Switchblade'. He has also adapted many works for Saltmine including 'The Hiding Place' and has written some one man shows such as 'God's Smuggler' and 'Tortured for Christ'.
