Samsung is said to be working on a flurry of handsets both high-end and midrange. Samsung Galaxy S7, its next flagship, is often in the spotlight. But it seems that the tech firm has a lot on its hands, including the manufacturing of the Samsung Galaxy J3, which apparently showed its face in recent Geekbench and GFXBench benchmark tests.

On its stopover there, the handset was revealed to don a 5-inch 1080p display, which is definitely larger than the 4.7-inch 540 x 960 pixels touchscreen of its predecessor, the J2 launched, which last last month.

Under the hood of the Samsung Galaxy J3 is a 64-bit Qualcomm 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, which should also generate better performance than that of the J2. The 1-GB RAM and the 8-GB storage space that can be expanded with a memory card should make the device more solid.

When the device dropped by the benchmark tests, it had Android 5.1.1 Lollipop running, but since the newer Android 6.0 Marshmallow is ready to take over, it is expected that the Galaxy J3 will have the latest build of Android OS.

In the imaging department, users will be provided with an 8-MP rear-facing camera that's capable of shooting videos at 1080p resolutions. On the front lies a 5-MP shooter, which is expected to do a much better job at aiding users take tons of selfies on their devices than the snapper on the J2.

There's no word about how much the Samsung Galaxy J3 will be or when it will actually be made available. It is expected that with its midrange-sounding specs, the device, which will be the first mid-ranger in its lineup when it officially goes out, wouldn't do so much as breaking the bank.

Samsung Galaxy J3 serves as the fourth device under the South Korea-based company's J brand. The first one is the J1 followed up by the J2. The J7 is classified as the premium handset in the group.
