Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen Samsung

Samsung has silently launched the 2016 Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen, known in the rumor mill as the Galaxy Tab A (2016). However, the new device can only be seen on the company's Korean website.

The latest tablet is reportedly a lower variant of the Galaxy Tab S models, although it features a 10.1-inch WUXGA screen with 1920 x 1200 display resolution and 16:10 ratio, similar to its predecessor. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7870 processor with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz, and it contains 3GB of RAM. It also has 32GB of storage which is expandable up to 256 GB via a MicroSD card.

It also comes with the S Pen, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which means that many, if not all, of the S Pen functionality will also come along with the tablet. These apps are normally bundled and are part of the TouchWiz interface that the company offers. It remains unclear, though, if it will also come with the pressure sensitivity feature similar to the company's high-end devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 comes with an Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, but it remains unknown if it is upgradeable to version 7.0 Nougat. The table is expected to provide long hours of fun and entertainment with its 7,300 Mah battery, while the 8-MP rear camera equipped with a LED flash will let one capture decent images. Video conferences are also possible with its 2-MP camera at the front. The older microUSB port is used on the device instead of the newer Type-C port. It also offers 4G LTE support.

In terms of measurement, it comes at 254.3 x 164.2 x 8.2mm in terms of dimensions and weighs 558 grams. It also carries a price tag of KRW 489,000 or around $435. Samsung has not issued any statement if their latest tablet will be offered to other markets as well.
