Samsung Gear S3 specs, release date, news: New wearable device arrives Nov. 18

After unveiling their next-generation smartwatch at the IFA trade show in Berlin in September, Samsung will finally ship the latest Gear S3 on in the US on Nov. 18.

The South Korean mobile technology and consumer products manufacturer will release the new Samsung Gear S3 two weeks from today, but it will already become available for pre-order beginning on Sunday, Nov. 6.

Those who are interested to purchase the latest wearable device from Samsung can buy it through their official website. It will also be available in several major retailers in the US, including Best Buy, Amazon, and Macy's starting at $349.99. Other retailers like T-Mobile and Verizon will also announce the price and release date of the Samsung Gear S3 with LTE at a later date.

On the other hand, AT&T will offer the device under the AT&T Next program, where consumers can pay for it in 20 monthly installments for $17.50 or pay $49.99 for the device and sign a two-year contract and buy a new Samsung Galaxy smartphone that is also available in the AT&T program.

The Samsung Gear S3 will be released in two designs. The first one is called the Gear S3 Frontier, which comes with a rubberized strap for a more rugged look. The other one is known as the Gear S3 Classic, which will have a lighter leather strap upon release.

Both designs of Samsung Gear S3 will come with a 1.3-inch circular AMOLED display with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass SR+ that has a 360x360 resolution, a dual-core 1GHz Samsung Exynos chip, 768 MB of RAM with a 4 GB of built-in storage and a 380 mAh battery. It will also be equipped with a IP68 water, wind and dust resistance and a Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. The wearable device will run using the tech firm's latest Tizen Wearable 2.3.2 operating system.
