Apple's alleged iPad Pro is already being tagged as a giant. However, it seems that another giant will enter the tablet arena, as rumors fly that South Korea-based Samsung is working on an 18.4-inch tablet.

A new leak has emerged showing off the specs of the mammoth device, which is allegedly codenamed Tahoe. It is said to have a TFT LCD display, rendering a 1080p resolution. This translates to a mere 119 ppi pixel density, which isn't the sharpest, especially on such massive size. 

According to CNET, this might be an effort to keep costs low, since such resolution is mostly recommended for 10-inch tablets. Even the 12-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2 had a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. That said, a device on almost double that size should make images look rather grainy. 

Speaking of size, the dimensions of the device as listed by rumors are 451.8 x 275.8 x 11.9 mm. 

The 18.4-inch is reportedly getting an octa-core Exynos 7580 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz, with 2 GB of RAM topped with 32 GB of storage space, which is expandable with a microSD card. 

The juggernaut of a Samsung tablet is said to sport an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera as well as a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter. It will get a 5700 mAh battery, which should keep it alive for hours. The device is said to have Android 5.1 Lollipop on board, too. 

It remains to be seen when the device will see the light of day, and there's also no word available regarding its pricing. 

In other related news, Samsung is also rumored to be working on a Windows 10-powered tablet, whose Super AMOLED display measures 12 inches. It is also reportedly getting a 14nm Intel Core M processor and a hefty 4 GB internal memory. This Windows tablet from Samsung is allegedly 6.2 mm thick and weighs 600g. To give it the Samsung signature, the tech firm is adding an S-Pen to the tablet package.
