Samsung is currently trailing behind other Android-based OEM manufacturers that already started rolling out the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. 

While HTC, Motorola and LG are busy delivering the Android 5.0 Lollipop to their respective devices, Samsung is still rolling out the 4.4.4 version of KitKat OS to its handsets this month. Galaxy S4 Mini Duos I9192, S4 Mini I9190, Grand 2 Duos G7102, Grand 2 G7105, Note 2 N7100 and Note 2 LTE N7105 are set to receive the last KitKat update before the end of November. 

Samsung is quite well-known for delivering the latest Android OS update later than other mobile manufacturers, which often annoys many Samsung users. The company has not been clear about the cause of the delay, but it is usual for the company to skip a version of the Android software due to the staggered release of updates. 

The South Korean tech giant has not yet revealed its roadmap for the latest Android firmware but it is already lagging quite far behind its competitors. Nonetheless, there are talks that Samsung users can expect the update in January as Google already rolled out the OS to Samsung for the company to make necessary customizations. It is most likely that the Google Play Edition of the Galaxy S4 will be the first in line to get the sweet taste of Lollipop OS, followed by the Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge and S5. 

Meanwhile, Nexus 4, 5, 7, and 10, LG G3, HTC One M8 GPE, HTC One M7 GPE, Moto X (2014) Pure edition, and Moto G GPE are some of the devices enjoying the perks brought by the current Android mobile software. 

The latest Android 5.0 Lollipop delivers an overall new user interface dubbed as Material Design, but Samsung will probably coat it with its own TouchWiz UI. Users will also see noticeable changes in notifications, battery lockscreen, multi-tasking, and security features.
