Probably the thinnest laptop will come out in 2015, as Samsung will reportedly unveil its newest high-end notebook called the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Ultrabook in the upcoming 2015 Consumer Electronic Show in January.

According to reports, the super slick laptop will have a 0.46-inch thick body, and will weigh a little over two pounds. This dimensions prove that the upcoming device will be lighter and thinner compared to Apple's thin 11-inch MacBook Air.

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Ultrabook comes with a 12.2-inch LED display featuring 2560 x 1600 resolution. It will also be equipped with an Intel Core M 5Y10c fanless Broadwell processor with Intel HD Graphics 5300, as well as a 256 GB SSD under the hood. There will also be an availble 128 GB option once the product is released.

The new laptop from Samsung will reportedly go head to head with other slim devices in the market today, including the Yoga Pro 3 from Lenovo as well as Apple's bestselling MacBook Air.

Samsung will also provide added security tweaks for the new ATIV Book 9 laptop called the "Privacy Filter." This provides some transparency to any functioning window in the screen, which means that those who will attempt to glance at it from the side will not be able to see the contents of the screen. This will be highly useful if the ATIV Book 9 user is browsing through a highly sensitive file.

The new laptop model also comes with a built-in on and off button that can be used to switch the mic and the webcam at a hardware level. This means that hackers will have a hard time listening or watching the user while at work.

The Samsung ATIV Book 9 will come in a 4 GB version with 128 GB solid-state drive for just $1,199, while the bigger 8 GB version with 256 GB storage will be sold for $1,399. The device is expected to come out in the first quarter of 2015.
