As this year draws to a close, consumers are now speculating on 2018's Samsung Galaxy A series after the 2017 version was released early this year. The 2018 mid-range lineup of smartphones from the South Korean tech giant Samsung has had many expectators speculating about its design and specifications.

A series of listings has consumers speculating that the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2018) will come in two chipsets: Exynos and Snapdragon. The 2017 version of the gadget only came with the Exynos chipset. A series of benchmark listings saw the models, believed to be the Galaxy A5 (2018), to be available in two chipsets. A listing in Geekbench included model SM-A530F, which is said to be armed with Exynos 7885 SoC, Android 7.1.1 Nougat as its operating system and a 4 GB random access memory (RAM). It scored 1541 for single core and 4351 for multi-core.

Another one was launched in September by Geekbench, where a model SM-A5300 scored 1593 for single core and 5834 for multi-core. This version is armed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. This gadget scored 1593 for single core and 5834 for multi-core. It is believed that the Snapdragon version will take the lead over the Exynos version. The Galaxy A7 (2018) is also expected to be released in two variants as well. Also, there have been speculations that the Snapdragon version will be disseminated in the Chinese market while the Exynos will be distributed internationally.

An earlier render showed that the Samsung Galaxy A series (2018) will have a Bixby button for voice assistant, a feature not all Samsung smartphones have. Only Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note 8 and Galaxy S8 Duo sport such. The upcoming series from this line is also anticipated to have an infinity display, but it is still unknown if these will have curved edges.

The infinity display will likely continue to be incorporated in next year's to-be-released Samsung smartphones. Along with this, the mid-range series is presumed to have single back camera, LED flash and fingerprint sensor. Reports also say that the Samsung Galaxy A series will have a "glass-like design."
