Samsung Galaxy A7 specs comparison with A5, Note 4 and S5

Samsung seems to be strengthening its metal-clad smartphone product line by launching on Monday the slimmest smartphone device called the Samsung Galaxy A7. 

The device comes after the unveiling of the premium metal-cased Samsung Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 handheld products in October 2014. This time, the Galaxy A7 features a bigger, thinner design compared to its predecessors. 

But aside from the slimmer feature, can the Galaxy A7 compete against the Galaxy A5, as well as the South Korean tech giant's flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the Samsung Galaxy S5? Here is the comparison of the four premium Samsung smartphone products: 

Samsung Galaxy A7

The Samsung Galaxy A7 comes with a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It measures 151 x 76.2 x 6.3 mm and weighs 141 grams. It is equipped with Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset and quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 for the LTE/3G dual SIM model, or an option of quad-core 1.8 Cortex-A15 GHz and quad-core 1.3 Cortex-A7 GHz for the LTE model. It will have a 2 GB RAM and an internal memory of 16GB, but it can be expandable up to 64GB using its built-in microSD slot. 

Samsung Galaxy A5

The slightly smaller Galaxy A5 comes with a 5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen featuring 720 x 1280 pixel resolution. It has a measurement of 139.3 x 69.7 x 6.7 mm and weighs slightly lighter than the upcoming product at 123 grams. Under its hood, the A5 has a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon 410 chipset with quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 processor. It has an 2 GB RAM with 16 GB memory capacity that can also be expanded up to 64 GB. 

Both the Galaxy A7 and A5 feature a 13-megapixel primary camera with LED flash and autofocus functions, as well as a 5-megapixel secondary shooter. 

The devices also run using the Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

The latest flagship phone from the South Korean consumer and electronics giant has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution and measures 153.5 x 78.6 x 8.5 mm all over. It also weighs 176 grams. The device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with quad-core 2.7 GHz Krait 450 processor. It has an internal memory of 32 GB that can be expanded uo to 128 GB using the allotted microSD slot.

Samsung Galaxy S5

The oldest device in the group has a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen featuring 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. It has an overall measurement of 142 x 72.5 x 8.1 mm and weighs 145 grams. The device is equipped with Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset with quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 processor, and it has a memory of 2 GB RAM and an option of 16 GB or 32 GB memory that can be expanded up to 128 GB. 

Both smartphones have 16-megapixel primary shooters, but the Note 4 comes with a 3.7-megapixel secondary shooter in front while the Galaxy S5 has a 2-megapixel selfie camera.

Also, these devices run using the Android KitKat operating system.
