After countless rumors about the Samsung Galaxy A7, the covers have finally been lifted over in Malaysia. Samsung's slimmest phone offering, measuring just 6.3 mm thick, was recently unveiled in Malaysia.

The smartphone which Samsung has yet to officially announce metal-clad Galaxy A7 but the thinnest so far in the Samsung Galaxy family is already available in Malaysia and in the Philippines. In Malaysia, the Samsung Galaxy A7 carries an SRP of Rs. 34,700 while in the Philippines, the phone is being offered at around PHP 24,990 (roughly about US$ 568).

Among the features that the Samsung Galaxy A7 handset boasts of include a 5.5" 1080p Super AMOLED display that has a pixel density of about 401 ppi.

Powering the A7 is a Exynos 5433 octa-core CPU (1.8 and 1.3 GHz cortex A53 cores and 2GB of RAM. For storage, it comes with 16GB of built-in space which can be expanded up to 64GB through the usual microSD card slot.

Other features that the Galaxy A7 carries include 12 megapixel autofocus back camera with LED flash and a 5MP camera upfront. The phone will come with the usual connectivity options (NFC, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS) while a 2,600 mAh battery will generate the necessary power for the handset.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 will run on Android 4.42 KitKat and will have dual-SIM capability. This means that people who have more than one SIM card (postpaid and/or prepaid) can do away of having to carry multiple phones since they can place their calls or send text messages with just one handset.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 thus joins other handsets in the Alpha series, the A5 and the A3. The Alpha series is expected to fare better since they are cheaper and are somehow similar to Apple's famed iPhones.
