While most fans have their eyes set on the next premium flagship offering in the Galaxy S series lineup, Samsung is not stopping with a single smartphone release for this year. Details of what could be another Samsung flagship in the pipeline emerged recently.

According to SamMobile, Samsung is not yet done with the 2016 lineup of its Galaxy A series. In fact, it seems that the South Korea-based tech giant will be adding another iteration in the lineup, and that is the Galaxy A9 Pro. Reportedly, the new product is already in its testing stage and may be out soon as the device has been seen making a GFX benchmark appearance.

On the benchmark page, the specs of the Galaxy A9 Pro with model number SM-A9100 are listed, and rumors about its features have been confirmed. The GFXBench page lists the Galaxy A9 Pro as having a 5.5-inch screen with full HD resolution. Under the hood, the upcoming device is powered by a Snapdragon 652 chipset and, surprisingly, 4 GB of RAM. The Galaxy A9 Pro features 32 GB of internal storage, expandable via a microSD slot. The benchmark test also listed the new product as having Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 onboard.

The rest of the specs included a 16-MP main shooter on the back, and an 8-MP selfie camera on the front. Although the benchmark specs list does not indicate the power capacity of the Galaxy A9 Pro, the industry follower predicted that it will still pack a 4,000-mAh battery, similar to the Galaxy A9 Pro's predecessor.

Meanwhile, according to GSM Arena, having the Galaxy A9 Pro on a benchmark website means that the product already finished its assembly stage and Samsung is already putting its final touches on the smartphone. While the release date for the upcoming product remains unconfirmed, the Galaxy A9 Pro will make its appearance in the coming weeks, though it might not make it to this year's Mobile World Congress, since Samsung already scheduled its Galaxy S7 launch for the said event.
