One of the rumored flagships that South Korean tech giant Samsung is preparing for release is the yet-to-be-announced Galaxy A9. Based on the recent speculations, it seems that the next flagship for the Galaxy A series is a massive phablet.

According to a report from Times News UK, import data has been gleaned from Zauba, an Indian import and export database company. Unsurprisingly, Samsung is already importing device components for the Galaxy A9 and another flagship device, the J3, for its assembly line. However, a surprising twist is that one of the components listed is a 6.0-inch display for the A9 flagship. If the detail is true, then the Galaxy A9 is considered to be one of the largest smartphones that Samsung will field in the market.

The 6.0-inch display also dispels rumors about the Galaxy A9's previously reported specs sheet. According to a report from GSM Arena early last month, the Galaxy A9 was seen in an AnTuTu benchmark test. The benchmark database listed the A9's display to be 5.5 inches.

Meanwhile, other specs of the Galaxy A9 included in the benchmark's specs sheet include a Snapdragon 620 processor, a next-gen Adreno GPU, full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, and at least 3 GB of RAM. The AnTuTu benchmark also listed the internal storage at 32 GB. The model listed on the database was run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

Although one of the features of the AnTuTu benchmark specs had been debunked, the other listed tech specs could still be true. Meanwhile, since the Galaxy A9 is expected to be released by early next year, Samsung may also be already working on an Android 6.0 version for the Galaxy A9.

Meanwhile, with reports saying Samsung will announce an early release date for its next premium flagship, it is unclear whether the Galaxy S7 will precede the A9's roll out.
