Samsung recently released its latest Android smartphone – Samsung Galaxy Alpha.

The new handset from the South Korean company differs from its flagship handset, the Samsung Galaxy S5, which launched earlier this year. Samsung Galaxy S5 was introduced in February.  Although the new Alpha handset fits the mold of being the flagship smartphone of the company, it was not marketed as such.

Samsung Galaxy Alpha edged over the Galaxy S5 by sporting a metal casing compared to the plastic body of the latter. Just like the Galaxy S5, the Galaxy Alpha handset comes with a fingerprint scanner, ultra power saving mode, S Health, and connectivity support for Galaxy Gear. Screen Display

The Samsung Galaxy Alpha packs a 4.7 inch Super AMOLED screen display with 720 x 1280 pixel resolution, while the Samsung Galaxy S5 sports a 5.1 inches Full HD screen panel.

Processor

Samsung Galaxy Alpha runs with Exynos 5430 chipset composed of two quad core processors clocked at 1.8 GHz and 1.3 GHz. The LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 runs with 2.5 GHz quad core Snapdragon processor, while the 3G version is powered by Exynos 5422 chip. The handsets come with 2GB RAM.

Internal Storage

All of the smartphones comes with 32GB internal storage. However, Samsung Galaxy S5 comes with microSD slot of up to 64GB for additional storage, while the Samsung Galaxy Alpha has no external storage.

Operating System

The Samsung Galaxy S5 packs a 4.4.2 version of the Kitkat OS. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha runs with Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS.

Camera

Samsung Galaxy Alpha sports a 12 megapixel camera at the back. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 has 16 megapixel back shooter. Both smartphones come with 2.1 MP front facing shooter.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy S5 packs a 2,800 mAh battery life. Meanwhile, the battery of Samsung Galaxy Alpha falls below 1,860 mAh.
