Samsung is reportedly working on a new mid-range lineup, the Galaxy C- series. While the company has yet to officially announce the lineup, it is said that the specs for the iterations have already made their way online.

According to SamMobile, supposed benchmark results for one of the series lineups, the Galaxy C7, have already leaked online. Reportedly, the Galaxy C7 will feature a Snapdragon 625 chipset. However, even if it is part of a mid-ranger lineup, the Galaxy C7 is supposed to provide above-average speed and performance, as it is rumored to carry 4 GB of RAM.

Other internal specs listed in the alleged benchmark result include 32 GB of on-board storage, and if Samsung will carry on what it has started with the Galaxy S7, will also feature expandable storage via microSD; a 5.2-inch display with full HD resolution; 16-MP camera at the back, and an 8-MP snapper. In addition, being a 2016 release, the Galaxy C7 will also come out with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 right out of the box.

Phone Arena says that with the Galaxy C7's listed specs and benchmark results, it can be said that the new mid-ranger is just a step below the South Korea-based tech giant's current flagship, the Galaxy S7. In terms of benchmark ratings, the Galaxy C7 listed a score of 60,140 – just right below the Galaxy S6.

In addition, DigitalTrends mentions that although a mid-range lineup, the Galaxy C7 also enjoys the same assembly and production points as the Galaxy S7. The design reportedly features an all-metal frame, and the specs sheet will be at least 30 percent more energy-efficient than previous mid-range models from Samsung.

There is still no word on when the Galaxy C-series will be unveiled, but since supposed specs have already made their way online, Samsung may be thinking of a mid-2016 release for both the Galaxy C7 and Galaxy C5, right before unveiling a new flagship lineup in the Galaxy Note 6.
