Rumors pertaining to the releases of the Samsung Galaxy J series smartphones were accidentally confirmed due to Samsung's own mistake. A listing of the J5 and J7 units appeared on the official site even before the company could make any public announcements.

Eagle-eyed consumers caught the mistake, where the products were listed under the Kids Mode section of the South Korean site. Samsung has yet to issue a statement regarding the faux pas or release. When pressed for a comment, the company declined, according to CNet.

The Samsung Galaxy J series features entry-level smartphones, thus it is ideal for tweens and teens or for individuals who prefer a simple but functional and up-to-date mobile device. The Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 have similar designs and use the same metal body, albeit one is slightly bigger than the other, as reported by Phone Arena.

The Samsung Galaxy J7 has a 5.5-inch display with 1080p resolution as well as a Samsung Exynos 7870 processor, 16 GB storage capacity and 3 GB random access memory (RAM). Its battery power, however, is at 3,000 mAh, while the J5 is at 3,600 mAh. Both phone units also come with a 13-megapixel front camera. Both models also run on Android Nougat and can work with Android Go.

What makes these 2017 Samsung Galaxy J series releases different from previous incarnations is its new fingerprint scanner. It is unclear, however, if the J5 and J7 would make its way in the U.S. market, although American providers like Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile have previously carried the J series.

The unconfirmed and accidental release comes as Samsung unveiled a lower-end version of the Samsung Galaxy J series, the J3, for U.S. consumers. Available since early May, the J3's price is at $180 and it is featured with a 5-inch display, a 5-megapixel rear camera and 2,600 mAh battery.
